Isla Canela Golf Club

Isla Canela golf course is set at the edge of the ‘Marismas’, those salt water marshes that form much of the terrain of Isla Canela and which have the benefit of protected status as natural parks. Like the ‘Marismas’ the course at Isla Canela is flat and open and makes for easy walking – but not for easy scoring!

The course, designed by Juan Catarineu, is successfully integrated into existing flat terrain and is very comfortable to walk. Wide fairways run between natural dunes and many trees – oranges, olives, eucalyptuses and palms- have been introduced not only to enhance the location but, by their position, to provide natural hazards. At first sight it looks like an easy golf course, but it has its hidden difficulties!

The fairways are beautifully manicured and the greens are flat and true year round, offering even the average player the chance of a little backspin and stopability.Isla Canela Golf is a 5937m long course which is ‘user-friendly’ whilst at the same time challenging course for golfers of all standards. Any player with medium handicap can enjoy it because the greens are generous in width, true and most of them easy to reach.

The attractive club house caters to golfers every need, and there is a permanent golf school as well as a golf shop, a bar and a restaurant. There is also a swimming pool and two bowling greens next to a beautiful terrace on which to sit and relax. The clubhouse offers good Spanish tapas as well as a conventional menu.
