Kayak Tours
The kayak tours take place on the Ria Formosa , a natural reserve that is a permanently changing lagoon system approximately sixty kilometers long. It consists of sandy islands separated by natural inlets and channels, ideal for exploration with our kayaks.
There is an abundance of wildlife, both in the air and the waters of Ria Formosa, as well as the local people going about their daily tasks as they have done for hundreds of years.
We pedal and sail to the deserted islands, in a trip where we are constantly surrounded by all kinds of birds, many of which allow us to get up close to observe them. It is a truly natural paradise, somewhere that you would not normally have the opportunity to explore and it has proved to be the perfect location for anyone to relax and unwind. The guide will explain the unique features of the natural park along the journey.
Hobie Kayaks bring kayaks into the 21st century, they are pedal powered, an effortless way to move your kayak. It’s nothing like the pedal powered boats you’ve seen on the beaches, the drive is similar to the way a penguin swims, with fins that flap under the hull. The fins also act as a keel, giving the kayak the necessary stability, and with this unique system you can also add a sail (no sailing experience necessary) and, in any case, full instructions are given by the guide, so you can just relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the Ria Formosa natural reserve. We also have a support boat, so if you’re feeling lazy or tired you can just sit back and enjoy the view.
